available for Penn Women's Basketball's Elite Camp, June 24-26. The advanced camp offers a chance to learn from head
coach Mike McLaughlin, who came to Penn in 2009 as the winningest
basketball coach in the country. See below or click the links above for
more information on the 2011 Penn Women's Basketball Elite Camp.
Coach McLaughlin was the fastest coach - man or woman - in NCAA history to reach 400 career wins. His 407-61 record entering the 2008-09 season was the highest of any coach in the nation - man or woman, at any level. Combined with Penn assistants Kara Cassidy and Bernadette Laukaitis, campers will have more than 30 years of coaching experience to learn from.
Elite Camp (Grades 9-12)
High school athletes are invited to spend a part of their summer at one of the most revered University's in the world with one of the most historic arenas in college basketball.
This camp is designed for highly motivated student-athletes who have the will and desire to play basketball at the collegiate level. Coach McLaughlin will teach players how to play with defensive intensity as well as bring their offensive game to the next level. It will be a rigorous program that will help players reach their goals as collegiate athletes as well as prepare them for whatever the future may bring.
The athletes will stay in the Quad - a building that epitomizes the Ivy League - and they will play in The Palestra - a building that has hosted more regular season and postseason NCAA basketball games, more visiting teams and more NCAA Tournament games than any other arena in the nation.
