PHILADELPHIA - There were two changes to the University of Pennsylvania women's basketball schedule. The Quakers moved game dates for the matchups with Norfolk State and Temple.
The season opener at Norfolk State was initially set for Nov. 10, but will now be played one day earlier - on Friday, Nov.9 at 6 p.m.
Penn's annual tilt with Big 5 rival Temple also moved up on the calendar. The teams will meet on Wednesday, Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. The game had been scheduled for Jan. 26 at 2 p.m.
The Quakers return 10 letterwinners and two-time Ivy League scoring champion, Alyssa Baron, from the 2011-12 squad that finished with the program's
highest win total in seven years (13-15, 6-8 Ivy). In addition to the best
start in school history, the 2011-12 Quakers opened 5-0 at home for the first
time in eight years and set a program record with seven wins before the
month of January. The Quakers also posted back-to-back 10-win seasons for
the first time since 2003-04 and 2004-05.
