PHILADELPHIA - Freshman Sydney Stipanovich was named Ivy League Co-Player and Rookie of the Week on Monday by the league office. Stipanovich added another double-double as the University of Pennsylvania women's basketball team swept another Ivy weekend, clinched a postseason berth and a 20-win season, and set up an Ivy title game on Tuesday.

Penn (21-6, 11-2 Ivy) is tied with Princeton (20-7, 11-2 Ivy) atop the Ivy standings and the rivals face each other in the season finale at Jadwin Gym on Tuesday (5:30 p.m.). The winner earns the outright Ivy League title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. The loser has already clinched second place and therefore, an automatic berth in the WNIT.

This is the eighth Ivy Rookie of the Week award for Stipanovich which is sixth-most in Ivy League history and second-most in school history behind Diana Caramanico's league-record 10 selections in 1997-98. The St. Louis, Mo., native also extended her Ivy League record for a freshman with her fourth Player of the Week selection (Dec. 23, Jan. 27, Feb. 3).

For the week, Stipanovich was 13-of-22 (56.5%) from the field and averaged 14.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks.

Against Columbia, Stipanovich was 7-of-10 from the floor and finished with 16 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of assists in a 65-50 win. It marked her 10th double-double of the season -- the first Quaker to do so since Jennifer Fleischer in 2004-05.

Stipanovich then had 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench in a 50-43 win over Cornell. She also added three blocks -- which increased her school-record season total to 96 and moved her into a tie for second-most blocks in a single season in Ivy history.

The Player of the Week honor was shared with Tuesday's opponent, Princeton's Nicole Hung. Tuesday is a doubleheader at Princeton so a ticket to the men’s game (8 p.m.) gets fans into the women’s game for free. For those that can’t make it to Jadwin Gym, fans can watch the game on the Ivy League Digital Network and listen on the Penn Sports Network. Live stats can be found at PrincetonTigers.com and live twitter updates (@PennWBB) are also available throughout the contest.
