PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team kept its winning and stingy streaks alive on Sunday afternoon, blanking Saint Joseph's 1-0 to improve to 4-0-0 on the season. The game was played at the Hawks' Sweeney Field, out on City Avenue.

Freshman defender Tahirih Nesmith scored her third goal in four collegiate matches, as a cleared ball deflected off her into the SJU goal in the 42nd minute.

Penn dominated the match, outshooting the Hawks 14-1. Lauren Jancuska was forced to make five saves for Saint Joseph's. At the other end, Kalijah Terilli went the distance for the second match in a row and was forced to stop the only shot the Hawks took on the day.

Penn has now won each of its first four games via the shutout route, just the fourth time that has happened in program history (also 1998 and 2011).

The Quakers are in Virginia for a pair of road games next weekend, facing William & Mary Friday at 7 p.m. and Old Dominion Sunday at 1 p.m.
