PHILADELPHIA - University of Pennsylvania women's soccer midfielder Ana Chevtchenko has returned to campus after her call-up to the Russian National Team for a pair of international friendlies against the United States earlier this month.

Clearly the freshman made an impression, however, as she has received another callup for the Algarve Cup. The annual event, which features many of the top women's national teams, will take place in Portugal from March 5-12. Chevtchenko got her first call-up during the regular season in the fall, for Russia's World Cup qualifier against Germany.

The freshman -- who was born in Oregon but holds dual Russian/US citizenship -- got on the field for both of the matches against the United States, playing 37 minutes in the first leg in Boca Raton, Fla., and 44 minutes in the second leg at Atlanta's Georgia Dome. The U.S. won both matches.

Penn Sports Network (PSN) recently caught up with Chevtchenko to ask about her experiences with the Russian team and what it was like taking the field against a team she grew up following, the U.S. Women's National Team.
