PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards in men's lacrosse, and Penn sophomore goalie Brian Feeney has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week. He is the second Penn player so honored this season; senior midfielder John Conneely was Player of the Week about a month ago.

Feeney earned the honor with two standout performances last week. He tied a career high with 14 saves last Tuesday at Bucknell, allowing just eight goals in an 8-3 loss to the Bison. He followed that up with a 13-save performance against Harvard as the Quakers beat the Crimson, 13-11. Of particular note, Feeney had 12 saves in the final three quarters while allowing just six goals.

For the week, Feeney made 27 saves and allowed 19 goals for a .587 save percentage.

Penn (2-8, 1-4 Ivy) is in action twice this week, beginning Tuesday night at 7 p.m. when they meet local rival Saint Jospeh's at the Hawks' Finnesey Field. On Saturday, the Quakers will close out the Ivy League portion of their 2012 season when they travel to Dartmouth to face the Big Green at 1 p.m.
