PHILADELPHIA – With just a short distance to travel this Saturday, the University of Pennsylvania gymnastics team will head to inter-city rival Temple to face the Owls, Cornell, West Chester (Pa.) and Ursinus at 1 p.m. in the Ken Anderson Memorial Invite.
After consecutive dual meets against Illinois State at home and Yale on the road, the Quakers will return to quad action for the second time this season.
Penn will be seeing Temple for the third time this season after competing against the Owls in the preseason Phiadelphia Jamboree in Penn’s new Nalitt Family Gymnastics Center in December. The Quakers also saw Temple at the season opening George Washington Invitational.
In addition to seeing Temple again, the Quakers will see Ivy foe Cornell for the second time. The Big Red also competed at the George Washington Invitational.
Penn has been led by senior co-captain Diana Moock, junior Amber Woo, and sophomore Carissa Lim in the early part of the season. Freshman Rachel Graham has also been a welcome addition to the lineup. The four gymnasts have consistently performed in two or more events in every meet this season.
With a lineup that has been juggled due to injuries for most of the early part of the season, the Quakers are looking to improve scoring as they begin to solidify their rotation.
