College Park, Md. - The Quakers had six top-four finishes on the first day of the the Terp Invite at Maryland on Friday.
Penn opened the afternoon session with a second-place finish in the 200-yard free relay. The foursome of Clarissa Palmer, Sophie Woodward-Fisher, Anne Maercklein and Jennifer Dalmonte finished in 1:40.09.
In the 200-yard I.M. sophomore Erica Pangilinan finished in second with her time of 2:10.56. Freshman Jordan Hanna matched that finish in the 100-yard breast, taking second with a career-best 1:04.25. Classmate Katie Orem followed with a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, touching in 2:04.
Senior Amanda King placed third in the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:09.77 and Penn's 400-yard medley relay finished second.
The Quakers return to the pool tomorrow for the final eight events of the Invitational. Results will be updated live here throughout the day.
