Women's Swimming Leads After Day One at Kenyon

Day One Results

Gambier, Ohio - The women's swimming team will enter the second day of competition at the Total Performance Invitational with a 31-point lead over Kenyon and the rest of the field after a successful start to the meet on Thursday night.

The meet began with the 800 Freestyle Relay, where Penn's 'A' team of Kristi Edleson, Hayley Springman, Blair Webb and Jenny Claydon raced to a second place finish with a time of 7:31.05, less than one second behind the Kenyon 'A' team.

Edleson was back at it later in the evening as she won the 1650 Freestyle for the second year in a row, part of a 1-2-3 finish for the Quakers in the event. Edleson's winning time was 16:56.13, while Julia Anderson (17:09.20) and Rebecca Aiello (17:09.25) rounded out the top finishers.

The Quakers return to the pool tomorrow morning at 9:30 for preliminary action in numerous events with the finals of day two beginning at 5:30 tomorrow evening. A live stream of those events can be viewed here.
