PHILADELPHIA - The Penn men's golf team was selected for the NCAA regional in Bowling Green, Ky. The announcement was made Monday night by the NCAA.
The Ivy League champion Quakers will be the 13th seed out of 14 teams in the regional, which will be hosted by Western Kentucky University and played at The Club at Olde Stone from May 17-19. The Bowling Green regional features seven teams that were conference champions. The top seed is UCLA, while Arkansas is the second seed. Big 12 champion Texas A&M is the third seed.
Bowling Green is one of three regionals that has 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. Three other regionals feature 13 teams and 10 individuals not on those teams. In each case, the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the NCAA finals.
The finals will be conducted May 29-June 3, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Southern California is the host institution for this year's championships.
