HINGHAM, Mass. - If the Penn women's golf team wanted to send a message to the rest of the Ivy League for the spring, the Quakers certainly did it in the final fall event of their 2011-12 schedule.

Playing in the seven-team Harvard Invitational -- all seven being Ivy institutions -- the Red and Blue grabbed the team title on the par-72 Boston Golf Club. The Quakers shot 318-319--637 to down both Columbia and the host Crimson by five strokes. Penn was down seven strokes to Harvard heading into Sunday's final round, but outshot the Crimson by 12 strokes to gain the victory.

Penn was led by junior Isabel Han, who carded 78-79--157 and finished in a tie for fourth with Dartmouth Abram Lee and Columbia's Lynda Kwon. Freshman Amanda Chin also had a consistent weekend, shooting 80-81--161 to tie for 10th place, while sophomore Olivia Chang (80-82--162) tied for 12th.

Senior Tiffany Cheung made up nine strokes from her first round to her second round, carding 86-77--163 to tie for 15th, while sophomore Michelle Lee (80-84--164) was right behind and tied for 18th.

Columbia's Michelle Piyapattra was the individual medalist by a whopping six strokes over the 36-hole tournament. She shot 77-72--149 to down Harvard's Bonnie Hu (75-80--155) and the Crimson's Tiffany Lim (75-81--156).
