PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's golf team is ready to tee it up for the spring season, looking ahead to the Ivy League Championships at the end of April. The spring begins this Sunday through Tuesday with a new-look C&F Bank Women's Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary.

For the first time in tournament history, the C&F will not be played at Ford's Colony. Instead, the event will take place at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va., on the famed River Course designed by Peter Dye. The River Course hosted the Michelob Championship on the PGA Tour from 1968-2002, and the LPGA Michelob Ultra Open from 2003-2009. This fall, the LPGA will return to Kingsmill with the Kingsmill Championship (Sept. 3-9).

Another new wrinkle is the length of the tournament. This year, for the first time since 1992, it will be played over three rounds -- one on Sunday, one on Monday, one on Tuesday. Three of the first four events were 54-hole affairs, but 18 of the last 19 were 36 holes.

In addition to the Quakers and the host, William & Mary, the tournament field includes Boston College, Central Connecticut State, Delaware, Fairfield, Hampton, High Point, Hofstra, Lehigh, Longwood, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Quinnipiac, Radford, Sacred Heart, St. Leo, St. Francis (Pa.), St. John's, Toledo, and Towson.

Penn will feature a lineup with senior Tiffany Cheung, juniors Isabel Han and Elizabeth Kresock, sophomore Michelle Lee, and freshman Amanda Chin.

"Heading into the first tournament of the spring, we are looking to better our third-place finish from last year," said Head Coach Mark Anderson. "We had some strong individual performances at this event in 2011, and it will be a good opportunity to see what we need to work on so we can achieve our ultimate goal of another Ivy League Championship. After playing some very difficult courses over spring break (Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Cypress Point, and San Francisco Golf Club), the team is ready for any challenge that comes their way."
