PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's golf team has had a few weeks off, but they will hope to get into gear quickly this weekend at the Ivy League Championships. The Quakers won this event for the first time two years ago, but finished fourth last year in one of the tightest races the tournament has seen.
This year's 54-hole event will be played from Friday to Sunday at the Seaview Golf Resort in Galloway, N.J. Seaview's Bay Course plays at par-71 and measures 6,247 yards from the tips. The teams are slated to begin teeing off at 8 a.m. all three days.
Penn's lineup will miss one strong presence, as senior captain Tiffany Cheung will not be able to play due to an injury. Another veteran of this event, junior Elizabeth Kresock, will also sit due to injury. As a result, the Quakers will field a lineup that is headlined by junior Isabel Han and also include Olivia Chang, Amanda Chin, Libby Hooton and Michelle Lee. Lee tied for fifth a year ago and was first-team All-Ivy; Han was first-team All-Ivy two years ago (along with Cheung) when Penn won the title.
