Men's Tennis Hosts Penn Invitational Beginning Friday

PHILADELPHIA - The first-ever Penn Invitational gets underway Friday morning with matches spread out over the 18 courts of the Hamlin Tennis Center and the Levy Tennis Pavilion. A total of 16 teams will be represented at the event, which features seven flights of singles and two flights of doubles play.
Action begins at 9 a.m. on Friday morning with the first round of doubles play in both brackets. Following the conclusion of those matches, two rounds of singles as well as one round of consolation singles will be completed. Play will continue on Saturday with the finals of each flight to take place on Sunday.
Penn will be represented by 13 individuals in singles and six teams in doubles. Junior co-captain Nikola Kocovic and Jeremy Court lead the way for the Red and Blue as they aim to take home Penn's first championship of the 2012 fall season.
The tournament will run from Friday through Sunday and features teams from Binghamton, Brown, Buffalo, Delaware, Drexel, Iowa, Lehigh, Minnesota, NJIT, Norfolk State, Princeton, Saint Francis (PA), Saint Joseph's, Saint Peter's and Temple, as well as the Quakers.
