The Red and Blue competed in five tournaments and opened with the Princeton/Farnsworth Invitational, where freshman Matt Nardella competed in his first collegiate singles final and was the lone Quaker to do so.
Nardella reached a final flight again the next weekend at the Ivy Plus Tournament, this time in the Flight C doubles with senior Nikola Kocovic. The duo won the title in an Ivy showdown with Brown. Freshman Marshall Sharp and sophomore Zach Lessen also advanced to their respective singles flight finals but finished as runner-ups.
Next, Penn hosted the three day Penn-Invitational and saw six players finish with a perfect 4-0 singles record – Kocovic, Lessen, Sharp, Nardella, senior Zach Katz, and junior Jeremy Court – as well as three doubles – Kocovic/Nardella, Court/Willenborg, and Katz/De Alwis.
After a few weeks of rest, the Red and Blue competed at the ITA Regionals where six out of the seven Quakers won at least one singles match.
Penn concluded its fall at Minnesota’s Gopher Invitational. The eight players finished with a combined record of 27-6 in singles and 9-4 in doubles. Four players finished with undefeated singles records – Court, Nardella, sophomore Blaine Willenborg, and freshman Thomas Spratt.
