PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's rowing team completed a busy weekend of competition with Sunday's Princeton Chase.
In the varsity 8, Penn's A boat took 13th out of 45 boats with a time of 15:31.353 on the three-mile course. The Quakers' B boat was 22nd, in 16:04.509, while the C boat clocked 16:31.511 and was 34th.
In the novice 8 division, Penn's A boat was second behind Virginia out of 15 boats. The Quakers covered the course in 16:08.159, behind the Cavaliers' 15:17.653. Penn's B boat was 13th overall in 18:40.899.
In the varsity 4 division, Penn's C boat actually clocked the best time, finishing 18th in the 37-boat field with a time of 18:17.333. The Quakers' A boat was 22nd overall, in 18:22.346, while the B boat was 33rd in 19:14.512.
On Saturday, Penn's A boat took first place out of 26 boats in the Women's Novice 8 at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta. The Quakers covered the three-mile course in 15:13.3, well ahead of second-place Trinity which clocked 15:44.16. Penn's B boat took fourth, in 15:58.74, while the C boat covered the course in 18:12.86 and placed 16th.
The women will conclude the fall portion of their season on Sunday, Nov. 14 when they compete at the University of Virginia's Rivanna Romp.
