HANOVER, N.H. - The Penn women's rowing team concluded the Cup portion of its 2010-11 schedule with the Class of 1984 Award Plaque, in which the Quakers faced No. 1 Princeton and host Dartmouth.
Princeton ended up winning all five races, which began on Friday and concluded on Saturday morning.
In the varsity 8, the Tigers covered the course in 5:54.0, finished almost 10 seconds ahead of second-place Dartmouth (6:03.5). Penn was third in 6:13.1.
In the second varsity 8, Princeton's 6:03.2 was well ahead of the field. Dartmouth (6:12.8) just nipped Penn (6:13.4) to finish second.
Penn finished second in the varsity 4 A race, clocking 6:51.0 which was just more than three second behind Princeton (6:47.7). Dartmouth was third in 6:56.1.
In the third varsity 8 race, Princeton won in 5:59.4, while Penn again finished second (6:08.4) and Dartmouth was third (6:14.2).
Princeton and Penn were the only teams to compete in the varsity 4 B race, with the Tigers clocking 6:34.7 to defeat the Quakers (6:36.2).
Penn is now off until the EAWRC Sprints, which will take place on Sunday, May 15 on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
