PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's rowing team finishes off its 2012 regular season on Saturday, hosting Princeton and Dartmouth in the annual Class of 1984 Award Plaque races on the Schuylkill River.

Fans who cannot attend the races are encouraged to listen in by calling (215) 399-2864 or by clicking here.

The Class of 1984 Award Plaque has been run continuously since 1985, making it one of the oldest Cup races in women's rowing. Princeton enters the weekend ranked seventh in the latest USRowing/CRCA national coaches poll, while Dartmouth is 17th. Penn is among several teams receiving votes for the Top 20.

Penn women's rowing will be supplying a fan bus from campus to Boathouse Row for friends and classmates who would like to attend Saturday's races, which will begin at approximately 9:40 a.m. The bus -- a white Penn bus -- will leave 38th and Locust at 9:30 a.m., swing by the boathouse first, then continue to the grandstands further down the river. It will return to campus after racing is completed, at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Following the races, the team will conduct Senior Day festivities and dedicate a new shell at the boathouse.

"I am really looking forward to hosting this race," said Head Coach Mike Lane. "This is the first time in the last two years that we are racing on our home course.

"Last weekend (at the UVA Invitational) we learned a great deal about what we need to improve upon. I think we have done that, and Saturday will be a real opportunity for us to put our improvement to the test.

"Last year we raced at Dartmouth, and the weather really ruined the races. Saturday looks to be a great day, with fair conditions. The Ivy League is one of the best leagues in the country for rowing, and it will be fun for fans to watch our three programs battle it out."
