CLEMSON, S.C. – On another day that was shortened due to poor racing conditions, the University of Pennsylvania women’s rowing team completed its racing at the Clemson Invite.

The varsity 8 was able to get both of its races in on Sunday. The Quakers finished sixth out of seven boats in its first race, clocking 7:09.9 over the 2,000-meter course, and later placed fourth out of seven in its second race with a time of 7:24.2.

The second varsity 8 also raced twice on Sunday. In the Quakers’ first race, they were sixth out of seven in a time of 7:17.4, while in their second race they were fourth out of seven in 7:45.5.

Every other Penn boat got just one race in on Sunday.

In its one race, the third varsity 8 took first place out of seven boats in a time of 7:44.7. That was nearly seven seconds ahead of second-place Louisville and well ahead of the rest of the field (Oklahoma, Duke, Iowa, Cornell, and Michigan State’s 4V8).

The varsity 4 went fifth out of seven in its race, clocking 8:22.2, while the varsity 4B was third out of seven in 8:17.8 and the varsity 4C was fourth out of five in 8:36.7.
