NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach Cristi Bartlett set an American Record on the deadlift as part of an impressive performance at the 2013 USA Powerlifting (USAPL) New Jersey State Championships.

Bartlett deadlifted 507 pounds, setting a new mark for women in the 198lb./90kg. category in the "Raw" category which is contested without the use of bench shirts and squat/deadlift suits.

In addition to her deadlift record, Bartlett posted marks of 369 pounds in the squat and 253 in the bench press, resulting in her selection as "Best Lifter" at the meet.

"I'd like to thank Coach Steel for writing my programs which have led to this record," Bartlett said. "I am excited to share this award with my coworkers at Penn and the tremendous student-athletes I am honord to work with each day. I look forward to helping the Quakers improve in their respective sports this season."
