Raleigh Relays Meet Schedule

Live Results

PHILADELPHIA - Following the season-opening meet at historic Franklin Field, the University of Pennsylvania women's track and field team will travel for the first time this outdoor season. In a split weekend, the Quakers will head to Widener and the Raleigh Relays this weekend.

Some Quakers will stay in the local area for the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener, while others will head to North Carolina State for the Raleigh Relays. The two-day meet at N.C. State begins Friday at 8:30 a.m. with the steeplechase. The first day concludes with the 10,000 meters at 10:35 p.m. The final day of competition begins at 9:30 a.m. with another section of the 10,000 meters and is set to finish at 4:45 p.m. with the 4x400-meter relays.

Last week, Penn hosted the Philadelphia College Classic and there was a lot of shifting in the school record book. On her first javelin toss of 2013, junior Morgan Wheeler moved up to third in the school record book with the 20th best toss in the nation this year. It measured 45.72 meters (150 feet). Freshman Serena Graf was third with the sixth-best throw in school history at 42.87 meters (140-08 ft.). Meanwhile, freshman Kelsey Hay had the seventh-best toss at Penn with a mark of 42.16 meters (138-04 ft.).

In addition, in the shot put, Theresa Picciallo had the fourth-best toss in Penn history and Graf had no trouble jumping into the heart of Penn's all-time top 10 in the hammer. Picciallo's fourth toss of the day landed at 13.68 meters (44-10.75 ft.). Graf's opening toss of 49.33 meters (161-10 ft.) ranks third-best at Penn.

Last week's Philadelphia College Classic marked the only home meet of the year for the Quakers outside of the world's oldest and largest relay carnival. The 119th edition of the Penn Relays is set for April 25-27 at Franklin Field. Last year, the three-day attendance totaled 117,346. Get your tickets for the 2013 Penn Relays here.
