As national soccer postseason honors start to trickle in, Penn had three players recognized on Thursday morning by national pundits. Freshman forwards Duke Lacroix was named second-team All-Freshman by CollegeSoccerNews.com, fellow rookie Max Kurtzman was recognized by TopDrawerSoccer.com as one of its Top-100 Freshmen and senior midfielder Christian Barreiro was tabbed by TopDrawerSoccer.com as one of the Top 100 Upperclassmen in the nation.

Lacroix finished 2011 with five goals and two assists en route to Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors. A dynamic striker, Lacroix was one of 33 freshmen honored by CollegeSoccerNews.com, and the only Ivy Leaguer to make the cut.

Max Kurtzman took over the starting goalkeeper role at the beginning of the 2011 season for graduated senior Ben Berg and was 6-6-2 with a pair of shutouts before suffering a season-ending injury against Yale on Oct. 22. TopDrawerSoccer.com recognized Kurtzman's talents and ranked him No. 72 among all freshmen this season. Over 1,313 minutes, Kurtzman recorded a goals-against average 1.17 and a save percentage of .707 including an eight-save shutout in his debut against LaSalle on Sept. 2.

One day after earning an invitation to the 2012 adidas MLS Player Combine, Christian Barreiro was ranked No. 71 among all Division I upperclassmen by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Penn's leading scorer with seven goals and seven assists for 21 points, Barreiro once again led the Ivy League in assists while providing a consistent threat on restarts with his free kicks. He is one of two Ivy players on this list, and the highest-ranked of the two (Antoine Hoppenot - Princeton at No. 88).
