PHILADELPHIA -
A familiar face to the Penn soccer community is returning to University City as Pete Pososki has been added to the men's soccer coaching staff James C. Gentle Head Coach of Men's Soccer Rudy Fuller announced today.

"I am thrilled to be able to add a coach of Pete's quality to our staff," Fuller said. "Not only is he a fantastic coach, but he also is intimately familiar with Penn and our program. I got to know Pete through his involvement with our women's program from 2005-2010 and took note of his impact on those teams and their success. He is a tremendous recruiter and has a sharp mind for the game. He was involved with every aspect of running the program and played an integral role in their achievements within the Ivy League and nationally. Success has followed Pete wherever he has been in the past, and I look forward to working alongside him as we look to push Penn men's soccer to new heights in the years ahead."

Pososki spent six seasons as an assistant with the Penn women's program before heading to Virginia Tech for one season as an assistant with the Hokies' women's team. Last year, the Hokies posted a 14-8-1 overall record and reached the Sweet 16 of the 2012 NCAA Championship. While coaching the Quakers, Pososki helped the Red and Blue win a pair of Ivy League championships, reach two NCAA Championships and compile a 56-32-14 overall record while never posting a losing season.

"I am excited to return to Penn and an athletic department that I am familiar with," Pososki said. "Everyone here is committed to winning and I look forward to joining Rudy and (assistant coach) Rob Irvine - two coaches I have long admired while working across the hall from them - as we look to win another Ivy League championship."

A skilled recruiter and scout, Pososki possesses a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "B" License and coached at the highest levels of both college and youth soccer. A three-time letterwinner in the backfield at Eastern Michigan, Pososki will coach Penn's back line while preparing advanced scouting reports on Penn's opponents. Before his first tenure in West Philadelphia with Darren Ambrose's women's club, Pososki spent time at Northern Illinois where he served as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and camp director after getting his collegiate coaching start at Eastern Michigan from 2001-03 as a volunteer assistant. A Michigan native, Pososki served as an evaluator and staff coach for the Michigan Olympic Development Program (ODP) and the head coach of the Novi Jaguars Soccer Club while spending five years as a member of the coaching staff at the Eastern Michigan Soccer Camp.

As a prep senior in 1996, Pososki was a Michigan High School Athletic Association Class A (Large Schools) All-State midfielder and team captain at Churchill High School in Livonia. In addition, he was selected first-team all-division, first-team all-region, and second-team all-area during his final campaign. Pososki won three varsity soccer letters (1994-96) and played in the MHSAA All-Star Game and graduated from CHS in 1997.
