Amy Gross
Position: Assistant Coach

Amy Gross was named as an assistant coach in October 2010 and recently completed her second season with the men's and women's squash programs at Penn. She is joined by Head Coach of Squash Jack Wyant and assistant coach Randy Lim on the Quakers' staff.

In her first season two seasons at Penn, she has helped lead both squads to great success. On the women's side, the Quakers finished the year ranked fifth in the country in each of her first two seasons. The women's team also has accumulated nine All-American honors during this span. Assisting with the men's program, Gross helped guide the team to the 2012 Hoehn Cup Championship.

"We are thrilled to welcome Amy to Penn," said Wyant at the time of Gross' hiring. "She is an excellent player and possesses strong leadership capabilities. Both teams will benefit from her coaching style and her ability to relate to the Ivy League student-athlete."

Gross is making her debut as a college coach. Most recently, she coached at the Cynwyd Club and the Germantown Cricket Club in Philadelphia, giving lessons and helping players with their game preparation. She also assisted with the running of summer camp sessions. From 2003-06, while she was in college, Gross worked at the Talbott Squash Academy in Newport, R.I. as a camp counselor. Finally, she has been a mentor and coach in the City Squash program in New York City since 2007; City Squash is an urban enrichment program that helps at-risk youth fulfill academic, athletic and personal potential.

Gross played her college squash at Yale University, where she graduated in 2006 with a degree in psychology. Gross was the Bulldogs' captain as a senior and led them to the third of three straight national team championships. She was a four-time first-team All-America and All-Ivy selection, and earned the program's Coaches Award in 2006, the John Blum Contribution Award in 2005, and the Most Improved Player award in 2004. In addition to her Yale career, Gross won the gold medal at the Maccabiah Games in women's open squash and ranked No. 1 in the nation at the under-19 level.

In addition to her Yale degree, Gross also attended the New York University School of Continuing and Professional Studies from 2008-10.
