PHILADELPHIA – After facing the second-ranked team in the country last Saturday, the University of Pennsylvania men’s squash team faces a tough test in No. 1 Trinity (Conn.) this Saturday at 12 p.m. in Hartford.
The 10th-ranked Quakers (4-1, 1-1 Ivy) are led this weekend by College Squash Association Player of the Week for Jan. 12, Jack Maine. The junior co-captain received the honor for his 3-2 victory over Dartmouth’s Bayard Kuensell last Saturday in Hanover, N.H.
Trinity (8-0) has won all but two of its matches this season by the score of 9-0, and come into the weekend with a 27-match winning streak dating back to the beginning of the 2012-13 season.
The Bantams defeated Penn 9-0 last year in Philadelphia.
The Quakers are 7-21 overall against Trinity, but have not seen success since a 5-4 decision in February of 1996.
