PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers string of top 10 opponents to finish out the year will continue on Sunday when fourth-ranked Rochester comes to Ringe Courts. This will be the fifth consecutive top-10 team that the Quakers will face in a row. Penn (4-7, 1-5 Ivy) will be looking to close out the season on a strong note. This season has seen the team ride the wave of momentum all year long. The Quakers will be looking to end the regular season on an upswing heading into the team and individual championships.
Rochester (8-2) currently has a two-match winning streak, but it will also be in action Friday and Saturday against Franklin & Marshall and Princeton. In the previous two times out, Rochester picked up wins over Ivy League teams Cornell and Dartmouth. Rochester's last defeat came at the hands of Trinity, by a 6-3 final. Their only other loss of the season came against Yale in the middle of January.
Three Penn seniors will be seeing their final collegiate action on Ringe Courts this weekend. William Browne comes into the season finale with an 18-19 career record. He is currently 5-6 on the year, playing as high as number four this season.
James Clark comes into his final home weekend with a career mark of 23-26 for his career. This season, the senior captain is 4-7, splitting time between the number two and three spot on the ladder.
The third senior, captain Porter Drake, has a career record of 25-22. Currently, he has one victory during his injury-plagued senior year. During his junior year, Drake had the best overall record on the team at 10-5. Drake started this current season at number seven, but has moved all the way to number four as of late.
The Quakers hope will look to make to these three seniors last moments competing on the Penn campus a memorable one on Sunday. The first matches will begin at 11 a.m.
