PHILADELPHIA - Penn knew that it was facing a huge obstacle coming into its match Saturday. Trinity was riding a 230 match winning streak and the Quakers could not stop the streak that currently includes 12 consecutive national championships.

The Quakers (4-4) did not win a game against Trinity in the first six spots on the ladder. However, in spots seven through nine each of the Quakers won games but could not get the three required to take the individual match. At number eight, Daniel Judd came the closest of any individual as he took his opponent to a decisive fifth game before dropping the final game. Justin Ang, number seven, and John Dudzik, number nine, each briefly held off Trinity victories by winning the third game, before falling in four games.

The Quakers will look to get back over .500 versus No. 3 Princeton on Wednesday night as Ivy League Play resumes. Penn is currently in fifth place overall in Ivy League Play with a 1-2 record. They will look to knock off Princeton who is currently 2-0 in the young Ivy Season. The men's match is slated to get underway at 5 p.m.
