PHILADELPHIA – On day two of the College Squash Association (CSA) individual championships, the University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team member saw great success with a number of players winning matches and advancing.
In the main draw of the Ramsay Cup division, for players ranked 1-32 in the country, freshman Anaka Alankamony won her quarterfinal match in five games, before losing 3-0 in the semifinal later in the evening.
In a separate consolation bracket, senior co-captain Courtney Jones managed to win one match 3-1, before falling in the semifinals. Sophomore Camille Lanier lost in the same bracket in the quarterfinals.
Penn also found success in the Holleran Cup division, for players ranked 33-80, on Saturday. In a matchup of teammates in the main draw round of 16, junior Leslie Gill defeated sophomore Ailsa Agnew 3-0 to move on to the quarterfinals, where she advanced to the semifinals after a 3-1 decision.
Meanwhile, senior co-captain Chloe Blacker also advanced in the main draw winning two matches by the score of 3-0 to advance to play Gill in the semifinals on Sunday.
