PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Evan Prochniak was unbeaten last weekend at the Penn State Invitational and was named the College Fencing 360 men's national fencer of the week for his efforts.

The second-year fenced his way to a perfect 10-0 record over four matches on Saturday, including a 3-0 record versus No. 4 Penn State and ninth-ranked Duke. He also added three wins over North Carolina and one against Johns Hopkins. Facing the defending national champion Nittany Lions, Prochniak won three of the team's four bouts in sabre, including a 5-4 victory over 2009 NCAA sabre champion and 2010 semifinalist Alexander Ochocki .

Prochniak's 10-0 mark pushes his season record to 19-1 overall with his only loss coming to Duke at the Philadelphia Invitational. The sophomore's performance has helped the Quakers to a 10-1 record as a team through its first two weekends of action.

This weekend the Red and Blue travel up to Boston for the MIT Eric Soule Invitational on Sunday, Feb. 6.
