PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards in field hockey, and freshman Julie Tahan has received Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors. It is the first weekly honor given to a Penn player this season.

Tahan scored Penn's first goal in Sunday's 3-2 Ivy League loss to Brown, converting a penalty stroke in the second half. She was an offensive threat all day long, taking a game-high seven shots and putting four of them on goal (including the one that led to the penalty stroke).

Tahan is tied for the team lead with three goals this season, and she is tied for third among Penn players with seven points.

Penn (3-13, 1-5 Ivy) finishes up the 2010 season Friday night with a 6 p.m. start at Princeton.
