Devon Seifert
Position: Assistant Coach
Alma Mater: Old Dominion
Graduating Year: 2012
Experience: 1st Year

Devon Seifert was hired in July 2012 and recently completed her second season as an assistant coach with the Quakers. Working with the goalkeepers, she has helped Carly Sokach develop into a first-team All-Ivy selection in 2013. Sokach finished the 2013 season with seven double-figure-save games, 11th nationally in save percentage (.776) and 13th in saves per game (7.12).

Penn winning percentage has grown exponentially during Seifert’s tenure: after a 4-13 overall campaign in 2011, the year before her arrival, the Quakers went 9-8 in 2012 and most recently 13-4 in 2013. The 2013 Quakers were in the hunt for the Ivy League title and an NCAA Championship berth right up to the final game, ending the year 5-2 in Ivy play which was good for second place.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Devon Seifert to our close-knit staff," said Head Coach Colleen Fink at the time of Seifert's hiring. "Devon has high-level experience and has been coached by some of the best goalkeeping coaches in the country. She is eager to work with our goalkeepers as well as develop in all areas of the game. We have a well-balanced and knowledgeable staff that is working hard through recruitment and player development to help Penn reclaim the Ivy title."

Seifert graduated from Old Dominion University in 2012, where she was a starting goalkeeper for the Monarchs' field hockey team for two years. ODU won the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championship both of those years, and last year the Monarchs went 22-3 overall and advanced to the NCAA Championship semifinal round.

Seifert led the CAA with eight shutouts in 2011 and was a second-team All-CAA selection. She was also an NFHCA Academic Squad recipient and a two-time All-State selection. During her two years as the starter, Seifert was a two-time CAA Player of the Week and earned womensfieldhockey.com National Player of the Week once.

Seifert -- who hails from Marmora, N.J. and played her high school field hockey at Ocean City -- graduated from ODU's Honors Program as a Nursing major. She is registered as a Level 1 Coach by USA Field Hockey.
