PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania field hockey program is looking forward to Sunday, Oct. 28 when it welcomes back its alums "through the decades"!
"Penn Field Hockey: A Celebration of the Decades" will run around the Quakers' game with Brown, which faces off at noon. Following the game, a reception will be held for former players and coaches. The reception will commemorate the 40th anniversary of Title IX and Ivy League competition for women, as well as take a decade-by-decade look back at the 90-year history of Penn field hockey.
"It is a very exciting time for Penn Field Hockey, and it will be amazing to have all of the alumnae from the various decades to share in that excitement," said third-year head coach Colleen Fink. "Penn Field Hockey has a long history of success, winning eight Ivy League titles and making five NCAA Tournament appearances. It is important to this staff that the team understands and embraces this history of Penn Field Hockey and works relentlessly to elevate our play and represent Penn Pride. Many women ran up and down Franklin Field before us and paved the way for our athletes to have the opportunities that they have today."
