PHILADELPHIA—Freshman Elizabeth Hitti was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for her performance in Penn’s two wins against Lehigh and Towson over the weekend.
Hitti tallied her first career goal and assist in the Quakers' season-opening 5-2 win against Lehigh Friday night. Her first point came when she set up Sunny
Stirewalt to score to give the Quakers a 2-0 lead over the Mountain Hawks. After a Lehigh rally to tie the game, Hitti
scored her first career goal to give Penn the lead for good.
Junior captain Julie Tahan was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll for the week after a three-goal performance in the first two games of the season. Tahan scored the game-winner with 7:58 left in the 4-3 win over Towson Sunday.
The Quakers return to the field this weekend a two-game road trip in Virginia taking on Liberty September 8 and Appalachian State September 9.
