IRA Results

MERCER, N.J. – Penn will send three boats to Sunday’s Petite Finals and two more will row in Third Finals after Saturday’s semifinals at the 2014 IRA Championships on Mercer Lake.

The Second Varsity and Third Varsity Eights were unable to claim the third place or better finishes needed in their semifinals to move on to the Grand Final, but have guaranteed no less than 12th place finishes at the national championships and will compete in the Petite Finals on Sunday.

The Frosh Eight was fourth in its Repechage, and will row Sunday in the Petite Final as well.

The Varsity Eight took second in its semifinal on Saturday, just edging Oregon State by 0.510 seconds but finishing just over two seconds behind Stanford. That result will move Penn on to the Third Final on Sunday.

The Varsity Four will also row in the Third Final on Sunday following a fourth place finish in its Repechage on Friday.
