PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers fell to 0-2 early in the season with a 175-125 loss at the hands of Connecticut on Saturday afternoon at Sheer Pool.
Penn won the 200-yard medley relay and four other individual events in the meet. In the 200, the quartet of Rhoads Worster, Brendan McHugh, Peter Amos and Brett Gomes took first with a time of 1:33.20. Worster also captured a pair of individual victories, winning the 100 fly in 51.33 and the 200-yard fly in 1:54.49.
Sophomore Stephen Carroll earned a win in the 1,000-yard freestyle with his time of 9:45.07 while sophomre Ryan Littlefield was second in 9:53.05. McHugh touched first in the 100-yard breast (57.89) and took second in both 200-yard breast (2:05.40) and 200-yard I.M. (1:54.42).
In the 3-meter diving event, junior Jeff Cragg placed second with his time of 291.90.
The Red and Blue return to action next Saturday at noon, when the Quakers face Princeton and Cornell in a tri-meet at Ithaca.
