PHILADELPHIA - The Quakers opened the season with a pair of losses but look for their first victory of the season when they take on both Princeton and Cornell in a tri-meet in Ithaca, Saturday at 3 p.m.
The Red and Blue opened its season last Friday with a loss to Columbia and then followed it up on Saturday with a defeat at the hands of Connecticut. In those meets, junior Brendan McHugh started his season off strong with wins in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke. One day later he won the 100 again, but finished second in the 200 and also touched second in the 200-yard I.M.
Freshman Rhoads Worster looks to improve on his performance against the Huskies, where he earned victories in the 100 and 200-yard butterfly and helped Penn's 200-yard medley relay to a first place finish.
Junior Jeff Cragg will lead the diving contingent against both the Tigers and the Big Red. He won the 3-meter diving event against Columbia and then finished second in the event a night later.
Princeton comes into its first meet of the season as the defending Ivy League Champions. Cornell opened its season last week, beating Dartmouth and falling to Harvard in a tri-meet. Last year in Princeton, the Quakers lost 193-102 to Princeton, and also fell 160.50-137.50 to the Big Red.
