College Park, Md. - The Quakers had numerous top-three finishes on the first day of the Terp Invite at Maryland on Friday.
Penn had six top-four finishes on the day, highlighted by second-place finishes in both the 200-yard free relay and the 400-yard medley relay. The 200 foursome finished in 1:25.38 while the 400 group of Michael Lin, Will Hartje, Paul Maneri and Christopher Delafuente finished in 3:32.54.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Hartje touched second with a personal-best 4:40.97 and Delafuente came right behind in third with a personal best of 4:41.66.
Junior Brett Gomes swam his fastest 100-yard free of the season, using his time of 46.28 to place third. Lin also had a top-four finish, taking fourth in the 200-yard back with a time of 1:54.36.
The Quakers return to the pool tomorrow for the final eight events of the Invitational. Results will be updated live here throughout the day.
