PHILADELPHIA - Junior Brendan McHugh and the members of Penn's 200-yard medley relay earned All-Ivy honors for the third straight season as the awards were officially recognized by the Ivy League this week.
McHugh was named first-team All-Ivy for winning the 100-yard breaststroke in a school-record 53.66. The time broke his 2009 record of 53.97 and was one of two individual records he broke during the weekend. The junior also broke his own Penn record in the 200-yard breast, second second-team All-Ivy honors with his time of 1:56.77. McHugh was also named second team for placing second in the 200-yard I.M.
The Red and Blue's other All-Ivy selection came in the 200-yard medley relay, where Penn took second with a school-record time of 1:29.13. Sophomore Nick Johnson led off in backstroke and was followed by McHugh (breast), freshman Rhoads Worster (fly) and junior Peter Amos (free).
McHugh was also part of a school record in the 400-yard medley relay along with Johnson, Worster, and Amos. Overall McHugh owns or is part of seven records at Penn.
