PHILADELPHIA - The College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) announced its 2012 Scholar All America Team Awards recently, with both the men's and women's teams from the University of Pennsylvania among those honored.
The men's team had a cumulative GPA of 3.18, a mark that tied for 29th among all Division I institutions. Only 69 teams in the nation met the standards required to be eligible for this award.
On the women's side, a combined GPA of 3.13 placed the Quakers in a group of 132 Division I teams that reached the grade point average necessary to receive a scholar award.
The CSCAA Scholar All America Team Award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams that have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
