Day One Results (Men and Women Combined)

Charlottesville, Va. -
Season-best times from Chris Lyons in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke are a big part of the reason that the Penn men's swimming team will take a 67-point edge into tomorrow's final day of action at the Cavalier Invitational on the campus of the University of Virginia.

Lyons, a sophomore, began his night with a win in the 200 IM, nearly setting a personal best with his closing time of 1:49.94. Ryan Carey placed third in the event in 1:54.78. Lyons also led the team with a third place finish in the 100 Breaststroke (57.08).

Ryan Littlefield set a season-best in the 500 Freestyle, finishing second in 4:40.51. Elsewhere, Michael McElduff touched the wall in third place in the 200 Backstroke (1:51.30) and Kevin Intrieri added a third place showing in the 100 Freestyle (45.92). The night's final relay featured a second place finish from the Penn 'A' team of Conor Blackwood, Lyons, Paul Maneri and Logan Ware in the 400 Medley Relay (3:23.74).
