PHILADELPHIA--The Ivy League has announced its weekly awards for women's basketball, and Penn freshman guard Kim Adams was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. She shares the award with Dartmouth's Brittney Smith.

It was the first time a Penn player has earned the honor this season. She has led the Quakers in scoring in four games this season, the most for a freshman since Diana Caramanico’s 13 games in the 1997-1998 season.

Adams played a nearly perfect game, shooting 5-of-6 overall and going 3-for-3 from three-point range. This scoring cemented her as the League leader in over and three-point shooting percentage for League games. Against Harvard, she tacked on 12 points in addition to her nine rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Adams and the Quakers are back in action Friday and Saturday, hosting Yale and Brown at The Palestra. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. both days.
