2012-13 Men's Track & Field Schedule

2012-13 Women's Track & Field Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - With the track and field season right around the corner,  Penn Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Steve Dolan has officially announced the upcoming schedule for the 2012-2013 men's and women's indoor and outdoor seasons.

The Quakers will host two meets at historic Franklin Field in the spring, including the first outdoor meet of the year, the Philadelphia College Classic on March 23. And of course, the Quakers will serve as hosts to the world's oldest and largest relay carnival in the last weekend in April. The 119th Penn Relays are set for April 25-27.

The indoor slate begins Dec. 1 at the Lehigh Invitational - the only 2012 event for the Quakers. Once the calendar flips, Penn will be at the Armory in New York City, Jan. 12th and 18th to compete in Saturday Night at the Armory I and the Great Dane Classic. The final January meet takes place on the 26th in Annapolis, Md., for the Wesley A. Brown Invitational.

Feb. 2, the Quakers head to Penn State for the Sykes Sabock Cup, followed by another trip to the Armory the following weekend for the Rider/Lafayette Invitational.

On Feb. 16, Penn travels to New Jersey to compete in the Invitational of Ivy League rival Princeton. That leads into the Heptagonal Championships at Harvard, Feb. 23-24.

Afterwards, the Columbia Last Chance Meet will be held at the Armory, where several Quakers will compete for a spot in the NCAA Championships, March 8-9, at Arkansas.

After a weekend off from competition, the outdoor season kicks off March 23 as the Quakers run in the friendly confines of Franklin Field for the Philadelphia College Classic. The following weekend, the team will be divided as some athletes will head to the Raleigh Relays (March 29-30) while others will head to the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener (March 28-29).

The first meet of April marks the final weekend where the teams will be split. Part of the squad will head to the Colonial Relays at William & Mary, while the others visit Gainesville for the Florida Relays.

On April 13, Penn heads to the George Mason Invitational, which is a familiar event for the men's team, but a new addition for the women. A week later, the Larry Ellis Invitational sends the Quakers back to Princeton.

That leads into one of the biggest track & field events of the year when the Quakers host the annual Penn Relays. Afterwards, it is two straight trips to Princeton, May 4-5 and May 11-12, to compete in the Heptagonal Championships and the ECAC/IC4A Championships.

For those that qualify, the NCAA East Preliminaries are May 23-25 in Greensboro, N.C., and the NCAA Finals, will be held in Eugene, Ore., June 5-8.
