PHILADELPHIA - Following a second-place team finish at the historic Armory in New York City last week, the University of Pennsylvania men's track and field team will head to Bethlehem, Pa., for an invitational at Lehigh on Saturday.
The will mark Penn's second meet at Rauch Fieldhouse this season. The Quakers opened the 2012-13 campaign there in December with four individual and two relay victories. Junior Jake Brenza won the shot put with the fourth-best toss in program history, while junior Maalik Reynolds (high jump) sophomore Tom Timmins (500 meters) and freshman Drew Magaha (1,000 meters) also won in addition to both relays.
On Saturday, the meet will start at 10 a.m. when several field events get underway. The first event on the track is the 5,000 meters at 11:25 a.m. The meet is set to conclude with the 4x400-meter relay at 4:30 p.m.
Led by a victory from Timmins, a trio of Quakers qualified for the IC4A Championships in the 500
meters to help Penn to a second-place team finish
last Saturday at College Night at the Armory. The Quakers
also won the 4x400 relay, qualified three others in the mile and
claimed the top two spots in the shot put.
