2008 Baseball Spring Blog - 3/8/08 - Game Underway

BOCA RATON - 12:53 p.m. – We have completed four innings on field two at the Santaluces Sports Complex. Penn and Lehigh are tied 3-3. The Mountain Hawks took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Austin Borden scored from second on a Logan Marshall single. The Quakers answered in the bottom of the second when two errors by Borden allowed the first two batters to reach. Dan Williams followed with a single to score one run. Steve Gable scored two with a single to right. In the third inning, Lehigh took advantage of an error by Williams that would have been the third out of the inning. After the miscue, starter Andy Console walked three batters in a row to score one run and then hit Dan Clauson to force in the third run for Lehigh’s third run.

11:30 a.m. - The teams have finished infield practice and are waiting for the umpires. Game should start at 11:35 a.m. Here are the lineups. Penn is the home team and will be taking the field in the top of the first.

9:44 a.m. - We are finally on the bus on the way to the field after heavy overnight rains delayed the start of this morning's game with Lehigh. The skies have cleared and the sun is out so we are looking at a possible 11 a.m. start - maybe 11:30. We will post again once we have official word.
