Andrzejewski, Blechman Earn USILA Honors

STX/USILA Division I All-America Men's Lacrosse Teams

PHILADELPHIA - Penn senior attackman D.J. Andrzejewski and senior defender Andrew Blechman received honorable mention All-Americaand Scholar-Athlete All-Americahonorsfrom the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). The awards were announced during the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships, which were held this past weekend in Philadelphia.

Andrzejewski, whoalso was an honorable mention All-Ivy selection forthe third-straight year, he led the Quakers in all three scoring categories with28 goals, 13 assists and41 points. He also came up with 16 ground balls, and four of his goals were game-winners. Andrzejewski was among the Ivy League leaders in the three scoring categories all year, and he scored at least one goal in all but one game.

Blechman, whoreceived second-team All-Ivy honors, was one of three third-year starters on close defense, Blechman helped Penn put togetheran 8.26goals-against average, one of the stingiest in the country. He came up with 12 ground balls and also had nine caused turnovers.

In addition to their USILA honors, both Andrzejewski and Blechman participated in the North-South All-Star Game, which took place Friday night at Villanova University to kick off the championship weekend.
