Andrzejewski, Collins Earn All-Ivy Honors

PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its All-Ivy teams for the 2009 men’s lacrosse season, and Penn has two representatives in seniors Craig Andrzejewski and Drew Collins.

Andrzejewski is a second-team selection this year, while Collins received honorable mention.

Andrzejewski -- who was a first-team honoree last year and a second-team recipient in 2007 -- finished as Penn’s scoring leader for the third year in a row, scoring a team-high 24 goals and 35 points. He was second on the squad with 11 assists. In Ivy play, he had eight goals and four assists for a team-leading 12 points. He scored at least two points in four of Penn’s six Ivy games, and overall he had 10 multi-point games on the season. Andrzejewski will graduate with 79 career goals, 62 career assists and 141 career points; he is ninth all-time in both assists and points, and 12th in career goals.

Collins earned All-Ivy recognition for the first time in his career. After missing last season due to a knee injury suffered in the season opener, Collins got off to a slow start this season but finished with 12 goals and three assists for 15 points. His goal and point totals were both fourth on the team. Against Ivy League opposition, he had seven goals and two assists. Collins had five multi-point games, including four against Princeton and two in a win at Brown.

Penn finished the 2009 season with a 5-8 overall record, and went 2-4 in the Ivy League.
