PHILADELPHIA - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Associations (USILA) has announced its 2009 Scholar All-America Team, and Penn senior Craig Andrzejewski is among the honorees.
Andrzejewski is the fifth Penn player to earn Scholar All-America honors from the USILA, and the first since his brother D.J. in 2006. The others are Jon Cusson (1997), Scott Marimow (2002) and Will Phillips (2004).
Andrzejewski -- who was a first-team All-Ivy honoree last year and a second-team recipient in 2007 and 2009 -- finished this season as Penn’s scoring leader for the third year in a row, scoring a team-high 24 goals and 35 points. He was second on the squad with 11 assists. In Ivy play, he had eight goals and four assists for a team-leading 12 points. He scored at least two points in four of Penn’s six Ivy games, and overall he had 10 multi-point games on the season. Andrzejewski will graduate with 79 career goals, 62 career assists and 141 career points; he is ninth all-time in both assists and points, and 12th in career goals.
Andrzejewski ended his collegiate career by playing for the South team in the USILA Division I North/South All-Star Game in Cambridge, Mass.
