Ariffin and Madeira Fall On Final Day of CSA Individuals

HARTFORD, Conn. - As the last two Quakers standing in the College Squash Association Individual Championships, freshman Nabilla Ariffin and junior Annie Madeira both fell short in their matches on Sunday.

Competing in the consolation finals of the Ramsay Division, Ariffin fell in the to Julie Cerullo of Princeton, 3-0 (11-6,11-3,11-5), finishing her freshman campaign with a 11-10 record while playing at the top of Penn's ladder.

In the semifinals of the Holleran Division, Madeira lost in four games (11-9,3-11,11-9,12-0) to Harvard's Katherine O Donnell, who went on to win in the finals. Madeira finished the season with an impressive 17-3 match record.
