PHILADELPHIA - The Ivy League has announced its weekly award winners in men's basketball, and for the second time in as many weeks the University of Pennsylvania boasts the Ivy League Rookie of the Week.
Freshman Mike Auger was this week's honoree, following Antonio Woods' award a week ago. Auger scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the Quakers' loss to Rider on Tuesday night, then followed that up with a team-high 18 points and nine boards in Penn's loss to Lafayette on Saturday. Auger shot 12-of-17 from the field in the two games (70.6 percent) and was a perfect 4-of-4 at the foul line.
Yale's Justin Sears was named the Ivy League Player of the Week.
Penn (0-3) is in action twice this week, traveling to Temple on Tuesday night-- a game that can be watched live on ESPN3.com -- and to Wagner on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
