PHILADELPHIA – On Saturday October 11, the University of Pennsylvania baseball team hosted its annual Dinner on the Diamond event that featured current and former Quakers gathering for a reception and dinner.
The event has annually been held outside, but inclement weather forced this year’s event into a newly renovated atrium and reception room inside Hutchinson Gymnasium.
Over 100 former and current Penn baseball players along with family and friends enjoyed the evening that was highlighted by a silent auction and speech Head Coach John Yurkow thanking Ben Breier C’93, W’93, who helped sponsor the event.
Of the evening, Yurkow said, “I would like to thank everyone who attended the Dinner on the Diamond event this year. We had an excellent turnout, and it was great to see so many alumni come back and support the Penn baseball program, making it our best Dinner on the Diamond ever.”
After playing Wagner in ‘fall ball’ action in Staten Island, N.Y. the Friday before the event, the Quakers will wrap up the fall hosting Georgetown this Sunday, Oct. 19, at Meiklejohn Stadium beginning at 11 a.m.
